Emma C. Attales Middle School now has its own school softball team.

The team has nine talented players: Kathleen D., Mariam M., Alexa K., Jaiden C., Jade A., Ava C., Ava M., Hannah O., Lilli P., Luna T., Victoria W., and our managers Lilli C. and London T.!

The coaches, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. McGowan, and Mrs. McSorley, are very proud of the girls and said they are determined to make them even better than they are now.

According to Mrs. McSorley, the softball team was formed because of a combination of reasons. The coaches share a love for the sport and multiple students approached the coaches for the idea.

The girls have lots of fun during practices and games. Even though many of the girls who initially signed up quit, the coaches understand and are supportive of their choices.

This being the first year of coaching softball, the coaches have done very well to teach and support the girls with everything they’ve got! Coach McGowan and Coach McSorely have both coached other sports ranging from field hockey and basketball during their own time.

The future of Attales Softball depends on the younger students on the team as the eighth grade leaders will be going to high school next year.

The coaches are very sad to let the eighth graders go, but will be happy to see what great accomplishments they will make in the future.
